Get to Know Paul

Paul J. Mysyk is a life/health insurance agent licensed in Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, California and Arizona. With 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, Paul focuses on helping professionals and business owners get to and through retirement. He says, “I chose this profession because I believe I can help individuals enjoy more time and freedom with family and friends while living a healthier lifestyle both physically and mentally.”

Paul helps business owners and professionals through education about what their retirement will really entail, including planning ahead to address the many retirement risks they will face in the future.

I feel that my role as an advisor is to educate each of my clients on how to build their own personal retirement plan that combines their current "accumulation" investment plan with a long-term "preservation and distribution" plan.”

“The current generation of retirees are the first to live from 20 to 30 years in retirement,” Paul points out. “The retirement income required for this length of time requires a recognition that many current financial planning techniques are outdated. Many different retirement contingencies have to be incorporated into a successful plan, including retirement taxes, inflation, health care and long-term care costs, ongoing economic risks, and increasing longevity. Couple all this with wanting to leave a legacy for your heirs! I believe new strategies are required to help reduce financial anxiety and allow you to enjoy your golden years. And that’s what I help provide.”

“I tell my clients that what makes me different is that my main focus is on defense, protecting what you have worked hard to build from unnecessary loss and risk. It’s not what you have but what you keep!” Paul says.

I help people build an overall plan that works in almost every case, not just during ideal personal or economic conditions! A solid plan needs to address all contingencies, including current and future taxes, cost of living adjustments, increased life expectancy, health and long-term care costs, economic risks, and overall estate protection! The truth is, there's just as much value in preventing unnecessary losses as there is in picking winners.”

Paul’s favorite part of his job is educating each client about the realities of retirement. “Most often, what people have thought to be true about retirement planning is not true at all. By providing education—and protective solutions and strategies—I am fortunate to be referred and introduced to family and friends. As a result, that is by far the most enjoyable part of my financial advisory practice. My mission is to provide my clients with both the time and mental freedom they deserve to allow them to enjoy their retirement doing the activities they enjoy most with their friends and loved ones.”

I'm passionate about helping business owners and professionals preserve and protect accumulated wealth by identifying unnecessary wealth transfers that are taking place within their businesses and personal assets today and in their future. Simply put - it's not what you accumulate, it's what you retain! One's best offense is a great defense!”

Personal Biography

Paul J. Mysyk grew up in Northeast Ohio in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs. He attended Akron University while working for his family’s business. He chose to move to California at age 20, by himself, to learn about life. “I chose to earn a degree in hard knocks,” Paul jokes. He did well, and he learned a lot about business and finance in the time before he joined Morin-Levine.

Paul was a partner for Quantum Energy LLC, O&G Development from 1997 to 2012. He oversaw development of an extensive lease position working with a team of geologists, engineers, the landman responsible for acquiring property, as well as accounting and legal departments to mitigate development risks and build company reserves.

He joined the financial services industry when he became a financial representative for Direct Equities Inc. from 1991 to 1996. He was responsible for offering clients public and private placement offerings, joint ventures and mutual funds.

Paul has been married to his beautiful wife, Sabrina, for more than 30 years, and the couple currently lives in Chardon, Ohio. They have been blessed with three exceptional children, all currently in their 20s and successful in their respective careers. Breanna is an accountant and business owner, Joe is an executive headhunter, and Antonia is an attorney.

In his spare time, Paul lives by the principles, Faith, Family, Friends, Fitness and Finance. “The Bible chapter that most appeals to me is Matthew 25. Jesus tells each us what we need to do, ‘Take care of the least of us, i.e., feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, take care of the ill and visit the imprisoned.’ Doing for these, is doing for our Lord! I recognize that I’ve been blessed with many graces from our Lord. Giving back to the homeless and disadvantaged, due to circumstances that are many times out of their control, is what I personally feel God has called me to do,” Paul says. He is involved with the Knights of Columbus and he is a volunteer for both Project Hope and Geauga Faith Rescue Mission, where he is a board member and treasurer.
